Environmental

The Division prepares studies and reports on environmental laws and regulations impacting the City. This Division prepares and obtains permits required by the Federal and State Environmental Protection Agencies and Broward County’s Department of Natural Resource Protection. It also works with Broward County for the protection and restoration of the City’s beaches.

According to EPA, the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit program controls water pollution by regulating point sources that discharge pollutants into waters of the United States. This program was designed to improve the quality of our water throughout the United States.
