The Accounting Division handles payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable. State law requires that all general-purpose local governments publish each fiscal year a complete set of financial statements presented in conformity with general accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and have an audit perform in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards by a licensed certified public accounting firm. Pursuant to that requirement, this division issues the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR)
for the City. The City of Hallandale Beach has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the past 29 years.
