COVID CARES Publix gift card

Emergency Food Assistance Funds is available through the Emergency Food and Shelter Program CARES Allocation to assist Broward County Residents who have been impacted by the COVID-19 Pandemic. 

If you experienced job loss, reduction of work hours due to COVID-19, you have been physically impacted with a positive test or hospitalize with COVID-19 you may qualify for food and a food voucher.  

The following documentation will be required to qualify for assistance:  

  • Government Issued Photo ID and proof of current Broward County residence
  • AND
  • Proof of loss of income due to the COVID-19 Pandemic or Proof of unemployment benefits or pending application unemployment benefits
  • OR
  • Positive COVID-19 test and/or proof of doctor’s clearance for COVID-19.

The City of Hallandale Beach wants to make sure every senior and family with children who is in urgent need of a meal or food during this crisis, gets what they need. If you or your family have an immediate need for food due to a dire economic situation, please call (954) 457-1489 Monday - Thursday 8am - 6pm.  

Residents ages 60 or older who are currently not participating in a meal program and are experiencing a food shortage due to COVID-19, can call the Area Agency on Aging of Broward County’s Elder Helpline at (954) 745-9779 for assistance.

Broward County Schools’ Grab and Go meal distribution is available at Hallandale Beach High School.

The Area Agency on Aging of Broward County provides free meal delivery to Broward County Seniors over the age of 60.  Please call the ARDC helpline at (954) 745-9779 or visit their website at for information on programs and services.
