Commissioner Michele Lazarow

Michele Lazarow was born in New York City and moved to South Florida in 1970. After returning from college in NYC, she has been a Hallandale Beach resident since 2001. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts from The New School for Social Research in New York City.

In 1987 her mother opened her Hallandale Beach business, “Phyllis Lazarow Salon and Boutique”, where she has remained for the past 25 years. In 2005, following in her footsteps, Michele Lazarow opened her boutique, “Absolutely Fabulous!” on the street formerly known as “Shmata Row”. She earned the reputation as a hard-working, community-minded business owner.

Her other interests volunteering with Broward County Animal Care and Adoption, where she committed to help them become the first Broward County No-Kill shelter. She is a grassroots activist and has worked hard at organizing campaigns for issues that shape our world.

Michele Lazarow was elected in the 2012 election and is looking forward to serving her community.
