Sargassum season is in full effect in Hallandale Beach and the surrounding areas.
The current batch of sargassum on the beaches is definitely more than we’re used to seeing on our beaches and its hard to predict when the seaweed will stop flowing in. City crews clean the beach daily but have limitations on their cleaning activities.
When visiting the beach, please remember, Sargassum is not harmful to people and is a habitat for a lot of animals.
Please use caution when crossing the seaweed to access the water. For more information on Sargassum visit www.coHB.org/Sargassum
